From the halls of Montezuma to the shores of Tripoli!

I actually wrote this on October 5th. It's just an introduction about me.

My name is Emily Miller. I am 20 years old and a student at Northwest-Shoals Community College in Muscle Shoals, Alabama. I am majoring in nursing. I hope to be finished within a year or two.
I have a HUGE family. They are extremely funny. I totally have my mom's smart-ass personality and my dad's stubbornness. My stubborn side also comes from me being a Taurus.
Although I am sarcastic at times, I have been told that I am the sweetest person in the world. I have a big heart. I love helping people (hence the nursing major). Aside from people, I also have a ton of room in my heart for animals. I have 4 dogs and a fish. Animals are just so amazing because no matter what you have done, they will love you regardless.
I am a very spiritual person. I am a Christian. I believe that church is great, but I personally go outside to talk to God. I feel closer to God when I am outside in the beautiful world that He created.
I have wonderful friends. Katie is my best friend. She got married about a year ago. She works at a bank and is the co-manager of a shoe store. I rarely see her because she is very busy. My other best friend is Rebecca. She is majoring in nursing as well, and she is one of the only people that understands my weird-ness...probably because she is weirder than I am.
My boyfriend's name is Cody. We have been together for 5 years (6 in May). He is the most amazing man. He recently joined the Marine Corps and was supposed to go to basic training on April 4th. I got a call about 10:45 this morning and got the news that he will be leaving the 17th of this month. At first I was devastated. I was comfortable with the time frame of 6 months. I had a good cry and then thought about what he will be going through. On top of missing his family and friends, he will be challenged both physically and mentally. I am so happy for him and excited for him, but I am not excited about having to miss him. It will be a tough 13 weeks, but it will all be worth it in the end. I look forward to his graduation in January. He will be a new person. A better person. A MARINE
