My last Oorah

Hi! I haven't written in a while, obviously. I also know no one really reads this thing anyway. Just wanted to update!
So Cody and I got married April 2nd, 2011. It was absolutely the best day of my life.
He was training in 29 Palms, California until May and then he got transferred to Pensacola. I stayed in Alabama because of school. During some of my breaks and my off-time during the summer, I would visit him often.
Sadly, he got a medical discharge in November due to a bum knee. He was, and is still, absolutely devastated about it.  He is now home in Alabama with me and working at a bolt and screw factory about a mile from our home. I'm very happy we can finally start our married life together...but I do hurt for him and I do miss what could have been our strange, yet fun, military life. It was fun while it lasted. I am so very proud of him and everything he has accomplished.

Since I'm technically no longer a "Marine Wife", I have decided to discontinue writing this blog...even though I never really updated anyway. I am going to keep it though. It'll be nice to look back on it sometimes. Oorah and Semper Fi!

Big News :)

Wow, I can't believe I haven't written since Thanksgiving! Time flies.
Since then, I have started nursing school.Cody graduated from the Marines on Jan.14th from Parris Island, SC. It was a wonderful experience! So many happy tears! He had boot leave for 10 days afterward. On January 18th, he proposed to me! It was so unexpected. I had an awful day at school. When I got to his mom's house, he asked me to take a walk with him. While we were walking, he stopped and said he had something he needed to tell me....THEN he got down on one knee and said how much he loves me and asked if I would marry him! He gave me the most beautiful ring I have ever seen! He left for Marine Combat Training on the 25th, but he will be able to talk after a month. He goes to Pensacola right after MCT and will probably be there 4-6 months for his MOS school (job training). I miss him already!

Weeeeeeeeeeee!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I got accepted into my school's nursing program today!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I wish Cody was here so I could tell him the news. The only part that sucks is that my classes start on Jan.10th and his graduation is the 14th in South Carolina. I hope I can still go. If not, then I will be devastated.

Failure IS an option

I'm dropping my math class. I'm disappointed in myself. I got way too behind, and it's impossible to catch up in a month. I understand math and I'm very good at it...but the way the class is set up, I just can't finish everything since I'm so behind. I'm going to take it again next semester and get ahead instead of dilly dally like I've been doing.

Atleast now I feel like I can breathe and enjoy getting out instead of constantly thinking about math.

Letter #3

He finally got a chance to read some of our letters. He said letters are like gold to him. He isn't sick anymore and training is going great. YAY!

I wasn't expecting another letter until next week. What a great surprise :)
